If it was taken more seriously then there would not have been genocide or it would have been less casualties. The DR Congo didn’t see the effect that Rwanda had on them. “March 1993, four human rights groups led by Human Rights Watch and the International Federation of Human Rights issued a report on mass killings in Rwanda. Although the word “genocide” was excised from the final report, the press release announcing it, written by Canadian law professor William Schabas, used the word genocide to describe the mass killings of Tutsis.”(Advameg). If they would have just seen the severity of what was happening then there would not have been genocide.
